As a member of The EMDR Association (the regulatory body for EMDR therapists), I use EMDR, an evidence-based therapy, to treat trauma as well as many other issues. Working as a psychotherapist, counsellor and trauma therapist, I cover a range of issues such as PTSD, Complex PTSD, Anxiety, Depression and other conditions such as Complex Bereavement. My extensive experience covers one-to-one work across complex bereavement and loss. In my private practice, I work in an integrated and person-centred way using whichever therapeutic modality suits the client.
With a background of over thirty years working as an operational police officer, then as a force welfare officer for a large Police Force, I was responsible for a team of therapists and in charge of providing clinical interventions in line with NICE guidelines for police officers and staff. I also managed welfare for staff in high-risk roles and was tasked with providing Critical Incident Debriefs for officers and employees who attended traumatic incidents. I continue to supervise support workers and student counsellors at local charities. I also provide supervision to qualified therapists and trainees in private practice.
Whether or not you personally use the term "trauma", you might feel or wonder if you’re carrying elements of pain and difficulty from your past that are affecting you in the present day. Just get in touch and book your free 30-minute introductory session via telephone or video.
